Wow..my first news update in the new millennium...cool! Ok..on to the news. Backstreet Boys won the Best Band, Duo or Group award on the American Music Award. Howie was the only one there and his sister, Polly, went with him. It was just tooo adorable when he went to accept the award..he even had tears in his eyes..you had to look REAL close to see it cuz u could only see it as he walked up towards the stage..not while he was accepting the award. I'm sooo proud of 'em.

Howie is currently recording some songs for the new album...oh man..I SO can not wait till it comes out.

One more thing, Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!!

Leighanne and Brian got Lil' Tyke a little sister. Her name is Litty Leigh and I do believe that the chihauha (sp?) is 4 months old...I think. But I just wanna take this moment to say that it is just TOOOOOO adorable. Lil' Tyke Thomas and Litty Leigh...omg...it's just so so cheesy, but that just makes it all the cuter. They're just spewing cuteness...ok...I'm in an odd mood. Sorry. lol

Burger King Corp. signed an exclusive promotional deal with the pop heartthrob Backstreet Boys, which will include a CD and video offer targeting teens and young adults, the hamburger chain said on Thursday.
Contract terms were not disclosed but Burger King said it would become the exclusive sponsor for the vocal group's autumn 2000 tour. The exclusive CD and video tie-in will feature an advance single from the group's ``Jive'' album as well as five recorded but previously unreleased live songs.
A video with backstage footage and interviews with the Backstreet Boys -- Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, A.J. McLean and Kevin Richardson -- will be sold exclusively at Burger King restaurants.
The August-September CD and video promotion will precede the ``Jive'' album release, which is scheduled for October.

Ok. I contemplated posting this on my site for a while. But I am so extremely happy at this point that I have to share. We've all heard the rumors around Brian and Leighanne gettin' married. Well...it's true. They are getting married. And I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart that I am truly truly happy for them and I wish them all the best. Now...you're probably wondering how I know. Lemme 'splain. A very close friend of mine is dating this guy and that guys family knows Leighanne. Now, she's in her 30's and she's not at all the 'teeny-bopper' type nor is she a die-hard BSB fan (like many of us). Plus, I would trust her with my life. So I know she's not lying to me. Some of you may still not believe me, that's fine, you don't have to. But I swear...if ANY of you send me hate mail because you think Leighanne's a bitch (which she isn't) or because you honestly thought you'd ever have a chance in hell with Brian, I will respond with a very very very harsh and mean e-mail...don't tempt me, I'm being serious. And I'm really sorry for coming off so harsh...but I am not going to tolerate anybody sending me disrespectful e-mails about the topic. I would think we are all mature enough to handle this...besides...it's his life, not ours. And as I've already said, I'm SOOOOO happy for them. And now I will stop rambling. Once again, please don't take what I said at the end personally, but I've already had friends of mine go AWOL cuz of the news...and I bit their heads off too...so don't expect different if you do choose to send me such mail. Other than that, I am always happy to receive new e-mails from people. Now I'm stopping for real. KTBPA.

The Backstreet Boys are teaming up with legendary comic book editor/writer Stan Lee to create a new comic book and Web-based series detailing the music and super-hero adventures of the platinum-selling Orlando group. Lee and the Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter will serve as co-creators of "The Backstreet Project," and a special edition comic book introducing the series will be available for sale at the group's concerts beginning on February 19 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Not only is Brian engaged..but Kevin is too!! I wish the both of them and their fiancees the best. I am so very happy for the both of them. And just in case you don't believe me...go to mtv.com and check out the news section. There's RealVideo and everything.

I met the Backstreet Boys last Friday (2-11-00) outside of the Atherton Hotel in State College, PA. Kevin and Brian are so so so sweet!! And full details will be put up on my site soon. It'll take a little longer for the pix to be put up cuz I'm broke and so are the friends I went with...and picture development of Advantix film is EXPENSIVE. :-)

I'm sure all of you know by now that the Boys didn't win a Grammy this year. They lost most of 'em to Santana and one to Sting for Best Pop Album (don't ask me why Sting won...cuz I have NO clue) But I think that Santana deserves all the awards he won. He's a frickin' legend for God's sake. Carlos Santana has been in the business doin' his thing for 52 YEARS!!! He's a legend and an awesome guitarist. And of all the ppl to lose too...I'm damn happy it was to him. Besides, the Boys came out of the Grammy's with much more than what an award can do...respect. If you saw 'em..then I'm sure you were just as amazed by their performance as I was. They put on an excellent show and I am extremely proud of them. There were even rock stations saying that they did very well. And I think that it was their best performance yet. How often do you see musicians getting on that stage and singing A CAPPELLA?! Exactly. Ok...so now I'm gonna step off my soapbox and let you surf the site some more. Toodles...

According to Entertainment Tonight, VH1 is having a male version of "Divas Live". It's called "Men Strike Back." And our Boys WILL be present. It'll show on April 18. MARK THOSE CALENDARS!!! :-)

You can log on to mtv.com and vote for which single you'd like to be the next one off of the Millennium album. The 3 choices are: Don't Want You Back, The One, and It's Gotta Be You. I've already gone and voted a couple of times..he he he

The Backstreet Boys sang back up vocals on one of the tracks on Elton John's upcoming album, The Road To El Dorado. The song that they're a part of is called "Friends Never Say Goodbye". The album will be out in stores on March 14...and I am SO going to buy it.

A.J.'s alter ego, Johnny Suede, was forced to change his name. Since Johnny Suede was the character's name in a movie a couple of years ago that starred Brad Pitt, the name was under copyright and all that other mess. So, Johnny Sued is now Johnny No Name. And there is a small tour for Johnny No Name after the Into The Millennium Tour ends. I've received a copy of very tentative dates, so, I won't post them to the list until they've been made official.

On March 20, there will be a live pay-per-view special of the Boys through www.mcy.com. So don't forget to mark the calendars :-)

SURPRISE SURPRISE!!! Yup...I'm still alive. Anyway, on to the news. The new single, "Shape of My Heart" was finally played on radio stations today. Since I live in Bumfuck, Virginia right now cuz of school...I wasn't one of the lucky ones who has a good radio station. Lemme just say this..THANK GOD FOR NAPSTER!! I LOVE the song. It's just...it's beautiful.

All three Burger King Cd's are out now...go buy them before they stop selling it. This is supposed to be the last week that the BK promotion is gonna run.

The new Album, "Black and Blue," will be released November 21. I SOOO can not wait.

In case you haven't heard, both Kevin and Brian are now married. I wish them both the best of luck and I'm SO happy for them.

Kevin is looking to direct Krystal's first video for "My Religion". If any of you own the BK CD's, she's the one at the very end of each CD on the "hidden" track. She'll also be opening for the Boys on their upcoming tour.

The next tour is tentatively scheduled for the Spring and Summer of 2001. Once again, I CAN'T WAIT!!

Sept. 29, 2000

The Boys have finished shooting the video for their new single, "Shape of My Heart." As soon as I find out when it'll air on TV, I'll let y'all know. :-)
